The hardest thing for any parent to do is to leave their child in another’s hands. This is why we strive to make the transition from home to school as easy as possible on the parents as well as the babies.
Infants left in our care are loved and played with to promote and encourage positive development, attachment and growth. Our teachers work on many skills with your infant throughout the year that will stimulate and develop their motor skills.
As infants, each is on their own individual schedule and our passionate early childhood teachers create activities for each child based on age appropriateness. Infants are presented with various educational activities that stimulate, engage, and strengthen their bodies and minds, as well as create bonds of friendship.
Fancy Fingers (Ages 1 year- 2 years)
Fancy Fingers (Ages 1 year- 2 years)
As your babies grow and begin to walk they are becoming confident in themselves and start to explore their surroundings more. It is our understanding of toddlers that allows us to create an age appropriate curriculum that will reinforce their developing skills and help them advance to the next milestone.
In the Fancy Fingers room, our goal is to help our toddlers grow emotionally and socially. During the year we work with the children on nursery rhymes, songs, and simple arts and crafts projects. We also have blocks and lots of other toys to help with their fine motor skills and coordination. The curriculum involves lots of time for love, hugs and play, but also learning activities that are structured in a way that allow your children the opportunity to enhance their development.
Discovery World (Ages 2 years- 3 years)
Discovery World (Ages 2 years- 3 years)
At two years old, children are making new discoveries every day. Exploration is crucial to learning naturally. That is why our curriculum is designed to foster these curious and inquisitive years.
Our teachers implement various activities that encourage social and language development, and strengthen gross and fine motor skills. They utilize weekly and monthly themes to explore colors, shapes, and letters as well as promote early literacy skills. These skills are enforced through stories, music and discussion, while various crafts and manipulatives are employed to enhance your child’s overall educational experience. In addition to teacher-driven instruction, children are given most of their day to do what comes most naturally to them: Play.
Discovery Minds (Ages 3 years- 4 years)
Discovery Minds (Ages 3 years- 4 years)
At three years old your children have become independent and talkative. They are beginning to understand how things work and are more aware of people’s feelings.
Through teacher driven instruction as well as independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. These concepts will be taught through various monthly themes and thematic units.
Since we know that children do most of their learning through play, we encourage our students to engage in creative play such as dress up and pretend play as well as various other play areas that provide educational opportunities for children to learn and express themselves. Problem solving is encouraged through many types of manipulative toys such as puzzles and blocks. Fine motor skills are developed through activities such as coloring, cutting and tracing. Our primary goal is to ensure that each student is learning as much as possible in a very welcoming and loving environment.
Creative Minds (Ages 4 years- 5 years)
Creative Minds (Ages 4 years- 5 years)
In Pre-Kindergarten, the children learn about themselves, their families and friends, and the community. Their learning is combined with language arts, math, science, and art activities. Preschoolers learn to recognize letters and numbers, and to discriminate letter sounds. These emerging literacy skills are the foundation on which reading and writing are built. Essential math skills (matching, counting, sorting, sequencing, graphing, and patterning) are fostered through activities such as block building, manipulative games, songs, stories, and art projects. Science skills are developed as children are encouraged to use all of their senses to observe and explore the natural world around them. Our students practice their fine motor skills through the use of crayons & markers, paint brushes, and scissors. Each week the children work in Journals, a charming record of their development in drawing, writing, and language skills.
Our classroom centers provide opportunities for hands-on reinforcement of concepts and skills that have been introduced in a whole-group setting (circle time). Because young children learn best through active exploration and concrete experience, free play in these centers makes up the biggest portion of the daily schedule.
